In the Navy - Vogue 8491 (OOP)

Today's Church gear!

I enjoy a cute little dress!

My husband's shirt served as a "jacket" of sorts.

It's what I usually migrate towards when choosing garments to purchase (when I was purchasing - before joining this challenge) as well as to sew. By today's standards you could say that cute little dresses are my "uniform" of choice.

Such an easy dress to wear!
I've had this pattern for a while.  I can tell you that it was the jacket that caught my attention - a jacket with a belt of any kind is my hook!  I was also pleasantly surprised by the dress.
I have my photographer to thank for this facial expression.  He's certified SILLY!

The "simple-ness" of it combined with the subtle details (i.e. the front and back necklines, the front and back darts)...and the back slit....of course!!!! - makes this my kind of dress!

Dress in action!
A super easy dress to make with no waist seam....just two long pattern pieces - "dress front" and "dress back" AND....as if that weren't enough? It's lined!  I am certain that I will make this again and may even get to the jacket.

Profilin'
The fabric is some type of medium weight polyester crepe that I found in Virginia's stash.  There is also a cut of this exact fabric in black (this is the navy cut).
That's all folks!
Perhaps I'll take inspiration from one of my absolute favorite designers, Carolina Herrera, and make a black and white pant suit!

Until next time....PEACE AND BLESSINGS!!!!
