"Halston" by Halston

O-H  M-Y  G-O-O-D-N-E-S-S!!! One whiff of this fragrance quickly takes me back to a time when I was a soldier in the US Army!
I was stationed in Stuttgart, Federal Republic of Germany (FRG).  Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Wurttemberg is located in the southwestern part of Germany.  Headquarters to Daimler-Benz.  Such a beautiful place.  There I was all of 18 years old living in a foreign country.  Everything was new AND different as you can imagine.  For three whole months after my arrival, I kept my watch on "Ohio time" because it was the only thing I felt connected to.  I loved that Longines watch given to me by my dad (like Virginia, he too has good taste).  1.65 Deutsch Mark (DM) to one US Dollar (before the Euro).  On occasion it would reach 2:1 but not very often.

It did NOT take me long to get acclimated to such a wonderful place.  I extended my tour of duty TWICE beyond the original date and STILL was not ready to return to the States when the time came.   We referred to the States as "CONUS" - the CONtinental United States.  I was so enamoured with this country, the culture and some of the people that I later studied German in college.  It was my plan to return to Germany, as a civilian, to live, work and play.

I first discovered this fragrance at the Post Exchange (PX) and it quickly became my fragrance of choice.  I wore it every single day for about a year!  In uniform and out!  Day and night!  The fragrance was launched in 1975 which would explain it's popularity back then (late 70's - early 80's).  More than a few female soldiers considered this their "signature" fragrance.

Who doesn't know this fragrance?  This is a classic.  You either wore it or knew someone who wore it!  Very floral, woodsy and musk filled - all at the same time!   I never minded that it was rather heavily scented.  It seemed to last FORever.  Besides I loved the BOLD smell of it!  Honestly speaking, I don't think it is as strong bold today as it used to be.  I've worn this fragrance one other time since returning to the States. It was shortly thereafter.  I was still very nostalgic about not being there.  This fragrance has not been on  my list of purchases for quite some time but I still enjoy smelling it.  "It takes me way back.......back down Memory Lane"!

Speaking of Halston, I took a quick swing by their website and noticed these looks for Fall:
"Dress with Twist Detail and Scarf" Chocolate brown leather?.....that's HOT!!

"Round Neck Sheer Jersey Ankle Crotch Jumpsuit".  Ankle crotch??....like my harem pants ;-)?!

"Hooded Double Wool Coat with Self Belt and Nappa Blanket Stitch Effect" -  Loooooove that!
"Asymmetric Boat Neck Stretch Wool Dress" - Cute LBD!!!
Until next time......Peace and Blessings!
