I originally called this post "Psychedelic Vintage" but published it prematurely (I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS) and I'm afraid that 'all I had to say about that'...got deleted.
So I decided to start over...new post - new title....'fresh'...if you will. Thank God for second chances. You see....I really should have been working on a school assignment when I accidentally hit that "publish" button.
Oh so comfortable is this dress! |
Anyway, I picked up this pattern when my husband and I went to MI. I got it at a thrift store for less than a dollar despite my husband's comments that it "looks like an old lady's dress"...pardon me? I AM old and the pattern is old too but we 'gone' (are going to) freshen it up a bit.
I like the view with the slacks but slacks are not part of the pattern, just the top. |
The knit fabric is one of my clearance purchases from JoAnn Fabrics...surprised? I had JUST enough to make View 1. I shortened the sleeves (which are raglan by the way) and omitted the buttons. I love the neck band and the button trimmed tab.
Got several compliments on this at work today. |

In the Old Testament purple was worn by royalty. "And the weight of the golden earrings that he requested was a thousand and seven hundred shekels of gold; beside ornaments, and collars, and purple raiment that was on the kings of Midian, and beside the chains that were about their camels' necks." Judges 8:26
'Woke up this morning feelin' FRESH'! |
In the New Testament purple is a sign of riches: "There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously everyday" Luke 16:19
And today.....it was worn by me! Thanks for stopping by - BE BLESSED!
Your dress is beautiful! I have a similar pattern to this, but it is brand-new. I also thought about those 1970s dresses when I bought it. And purple is fabulous. It always makes me feel like a princess when I wear it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shelly! Purple IS fabulous. Makes you "feel like a princess"...it's that royalty factor! Take care!
